Laser Skin Toning

What is Skin Rejuvenation?

Our skin constantly keeps changing due to factors like ageing, sun exposure, dietary habits, stress, smoking, etc. Skin Rejuvenation is a broad term for a variety of non-invasive treatments, therapies and procedures that are performed by qualified dermatologists. During Skin Rejuvenation, the primary goal is to achieve healthier, younger-looking, glowing and even-toned skin.

How do I know if I need Skin Rejuvenation?

The skin rejuvenation procedures prescribed by dermatologists are based on the patient’s concern. Broadly, there are four types of concerns that skin rejuvenation procedures can target:

1. Age-related concerns: These include but are not limited to sagging skin, fine lines, wrinkles, dull and lifeless skin, etc.

2. Pigmentation concerns: These include patchy skin, specific marks and blemishes left behind by any form of skin damage, uneven skin tone, sun spots, age spots, tanning, etc.

3. Skin texture concerns: These include pitting, scarring, large open pores, etc.

4. Specific dermatological conditions: These include melasma, lentigines, freckles, etc. that leave behind marks and scars on the skin.

If you are concerned about any of the above, a visit to a dermatologist followed by a prescribed treatment protocol can yield great results.

What about getting the ever evasive ‘glow’?

What people often refer to as ‘glow’ is nothing but visibly healthy and blemish-free skin. When one undergoes skin rejuvenation procedures and simultaneously follows a prescribed skincare routine, they find that eventually, their skin clears up and becomes healthier, resulting in a sustained ‘glowing and beautiful complexion’.

Is Skin Rejuvenation
permanent?

Skin Rejuvenation procedures correct blemishes that have been caused over a period of time. The aim is to deliver great results for the same, over time. However, it is important to understand that like the rest of your body, your skin too needs care and attention in the form of a proper skincare routine. A dermatologist can help you develop a proper one that is suitable for your skin. This will help you sustain the results of skin rejuvenation procedures you may opt for.

Which procedures qualify as
Skin Rejuvenation

Dr.Sejal's Blogs explain it all.

You decided to get Laser Skin Rejuvenation done.

Now what?

Dr. Sejal will engage with you to get a detailed history and expectations and only then recommend a treatment plan.

The procedure begins with a face clean up. Then, after adjusting the intensity and under strict medical supervision, the trained aesthetician begins the contactless laser treatment as per the doctor’s directions. The patron’s comfort and desired results continue to be the primary focus areas during the treatment.

During the process, the heat from the laser may be palpable in certain areas. There may be slight redness or swelling after the treatment. However, this is normal and disappears within a few hours. Post-procedural care is minimum, and is generally restricted to the use of sun screen and reduced exposure to the sun.

Environmental factors like sun exposure and exposure to pollution can quickly reverse the effects of skin rejuvenation procedures, be it lasers or peels. Hence, proper post-procedure care needs to be taken. This translates to protecting your skin from the sun and following a proper skincare regime. With that and a sincerely observed treatment schedule, one can expect long lasting changes in the overall skin tone.

Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, laser skin toning is probably the only skin rejuvenation procedure that does not use any form of chemicals. Side effects are unheard of and in case of any doubts, one can request a spot test on the skin before proceeding with the treatment.

Laser Skin toning is one of the safest procedures for skin rejuvenation. However it is advisable that gestating women and patients with history of chronic skin disorders like psoriasis or vitiligo should avoid this and any other skin rejuvenation procedure. Also patients with active acne or any form of lesions or wounds to the skin should avoid such procedures.

For a session that covers the entire face, it takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes from pre-procedure care to aftercare.
