PRP Facial

Natural, Safe, Effective

What is PRP Facial or
Vampire Facial?

The human body is blessed with an almost unbelievable innate ability to heal itself. It is exactly this ability that we exploit when we carry out skin resurfacing with the additional help of PRP. PRP treatment uses platelet-rich plasma, which is taken from your own blood in order to produce results. Dermatologists use different names for this procedure like Vampire Facial, Blood Facial, Sanguine Facial, PRP Facial and so on, but don’t let that scare you. Beyond the scary name lies a natural proven mechanism which is extremely effective.

Who is PRP Facial
suitable for?

If you are concerned about the texture of your skin or its elasticity and have any of the below conditions, Vampire Facial may be suitable for you.

If you are concerned about signs of ageing showing on your face and have any of the below conditions, Vampire Facial may be suitable for you.

Patients with Acne Scars, benefit substantially from Sanguine Facials, as the PRP spread over the microneedled area tends to get absorbed in teh deeper layers of the skin. This causes a substantial improvement in cellular turnover and also teh micro injuries heal rapidly. After teh healing process the new skin that is formed is much smoothr and supple. Over multiple sessions there is a marked reduction in the scars.

How does
Vampire Facial Work?

The objective of the PRP facial is to be able to introduce PRP into the skin and for the same the procedure has two major steps.

1. Skin resurfacing: This is the process in which we carry out very controlled injury to the surface of the skin with the help of a microneedling device. This leads to a process called neovascularization, in which there is a substantial increase of blood supply to the treated area along with activation of collagen formation. (Collagen is the substance under your skin which is primarily responsible for increasing the tightness and elasticity of skin). The formation of new skin cells with the above process leads to a more supple and smoother skin in the treated area.

2. PRP Treatment: PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. Platelets are the component of blood which helps in healing of wound and injuries. Platelets consist of growth factors – which are nothing but certain proteins in your body that help stimulate cell growth. Platelet rich plasma is a solution that is made from your own blood but which has a very high density of growth factor proteins. Hence when we diffuse PRP into the area treated by microneedling it leads to a very quick and healthy generation of new skin cells, leading to a skin which is vastly smoother and softer.

Learn More About
Vampire Facial

1. The procedure starts with withdrawing 5 to 10 ml of blood from the patient.

2. The doctor then proceeds to carry out a micro-needling procedure on the patient’s face with the help of a microneedling device like dermapen or dermaroller.

3. Meanwhile the Blood is converted to PRP using a special apparatus.

4. The PRP serum is then infused into the treated area.

5. This is followed by application of a soothing mask to avoid any inflammation.

6. Finally a moisturizer and sunscreen combination is used to protect the treated skin from the environment.

Here’s a list of key DOs and DON’Ts to follow before and after the procedure:

All creams should be stopped for a few days before and after the procedure.
Pre and post-procedure, there should be no prolonged sun exposure.
Avoid any beauty procedures for a few days before and after the procedure.
Scrubbing and rubbing of treated area should be avoided.
Avoid using makeup and other beauty products on the treated area for up to 2 days after the procedure.
Waxing and threading should be avoided for up to a week after the procedure

Like in any other dermatological procedure the results may vary from patient to patient however many of our patients do notice a generalized tightening and an overall healthier feel of the skin (softer and supple skin) within a few days.

It is also important to note that the mico injuries from the microneedling process may take from 48 to 72 hours to heal fully.

Also the full results of the treatment are visible after one week.

The results of PRP facials are additive in nature, especially if you are undergoing PRP facial for reducing acne scarring, with each subsequent session you will find that the skin becomes smoother and the scars become milder. Your dermatologist can guide you regarding the schedule based on your skin’s requirements.
