Ear, Nose and Body Piercing

Why should I choose piercing at a
Medical Clinic?

This procedure has been done ever since human beings started wearing jewellery. However as it is an invasive procedure there is always a chance of an infection. Also there lies a possibility of the piercing getting shifted or being wrongly done in a cartilage which can lead to further complications. All these factors make a skin care clinic the ideal choice for getting your piercing done.

It goes without saying that InUrSkn offers the hygiene and comfort of a world class clinic and our entire team is trained to ensure that hygiene and safety is maintained through every single step of the process.

Know more about
Ear, Nose & Body Piercing

1. The procedure starts with numbing the site of piercing with a numbing cream.

2. Dr. Sejal then marks the exact point of piercing and the same is shown to the patient for confirmation.

3. The patient then chooses the ear stud that they would like to have.

4. Dr. Sejal then loads this medical grade sterile stud into a piercing gun.

5. The piercing is carried out and the nut at the back is tightened.

6. The stud should be left in place for 8 weeks, after which it can be replaced with jewellery of choice.

– Do Not remove the studs for 8 weeks after procedure.
– For Children : Do Not wash hair for 2 days after procedure.
– Rotate the screw on the stud in clockwise direction and anti-clockwise direction (two or three turns only) so that it does not get jammed.

– Apply the prescribed cream twice a day for 5 days from procedure.
– Wear loose clothes so that it does not interfere with treated area.
– Make sure nothing gets stuck in the stud implanted. (Especially Hair, thread etc.)

The process of piercing is actually painless and gets over in a very short duration. However one needs to keep the inserted ear stud in place for at least 8 weeks. One should not remove the ear stud in this duration as it can either cause unnecessary inflammation or in worst case scenario cause the pierced hole to prematurely heal and close up.

This does not matter, it is more of a personal choice. Do consider if you have a propensity to sleep on one side, you may want to avoid that side.

Although there are quite a few types of nose piercings which are possible. The most common one remains nostril piercing and septum piercing. Of these I recommend only nostril piercing as the piercing of septum can lead to complications. There are a few more types for the more adventurous people like bridge piercing, high nostril piercing, Nasallang Piercing, Vertical Nose Tip Piercing etc.

The most common type of ear piercing which is also largely safe is ear lobe piercing. This is followed by helical piercing. However there are a variety of piercing possible like conch piercing, orbital piercing, tragus piercing, daith piercing, rook piercing etc. However Dr. Sejal does not recommend any of these techniques.

Any form of piercing should be done on a child only after 3 months of age.

While there is an increase in number of people choosing body piercings like lip piercing, tongue piercing, navel piercing and in some cases genital piercings. Dr. Sejal highly discourages most of these on account of its safety and hygiene.

There are a variety of nose rings that one can choose from like nose studs, nose rings, nose hoops, barbells etc. However Dr. Sejal recommends that one should stick with a basic nose ring that fits in your nostril as it is the safest and easiest to clean and maintain.

We understand the importance of belief systems and cater to request to carry out piercing as per individual beliefs.

The healing time for a nose piercing can vary from person to person, but generally takes around 6 weeks. It is important to follow proper aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth healing process.

It is not recommended to change your piercing jewelry during the healing process as it can cause irritation or infection. It is best to wait until the piercing is fully healed before changing the jewelry.

It is important to keep the piercing clean and follow proper aftercare instructions. Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands, and avoid swimming or soaking the piercing in water until it is fully healed.

No, it is not safe to pierce your nose or ear at home. Professional piercers use sterile equipment and follow proper procedures to minimize the risk of infection and other complications. DIY piercing can lead to serious health risks.

It is best to wait until the piercing is fully healed before wearing any earrings. This can take several weeks to a few months depending on the individual. Once the piercing is healed, start with small, lightweight earrings and avoid wearing heavy earrings for long periods of time to avoid stretching the piercing.
