Our hair grows in three phases, namely anagen (growth phase), catagen (resting phase) and telogen (falling phase). When hair follicles (roots of the hair) are exposed to laser light of certain wavelength two primary things happen:
1. Any hair in the active growth phase are turned inactive to the falling phase
2. There is damage to the root of the hair, such that it inhibits further growth of hair.
The exact wavelength of laser is such that it affects only the hair follicles while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed in any way.
At InUrSkn we use two types of technologies for LAser Hair Removal namely, Diode Laser and Intense Pulsed Light. Both of these have proven track record for hair reduction.

The following steps are typically followed in a Laser Hair Removal Process:
1. Dr. Sejal examines your hair growth and advices the aesthetician on the exact settings to be used for your particular condition.
2. Next the area to be treated is shaved with a moisturizer or a shaving cream.
3. The aesthetician then evenly spread a cooling gel over the area to be treated.
4. Next the laser probe is placed in tight contact with the skin over the cooling gel and the laser shots are fired.
5. You may experience a mild tingling or pricking sensation on the area being treated, accompanied by slight redness which automatically subsides in the next hour or so.
6. The aesthetician may make multiple passes of laser over the treated area to ensure results are achieved.
7. Post treatment the cooling gel is cleansed and a moisturizer is applied on the treated area.
After a Laser Hair Reduction Treatment:
– Do not apply any serums or creams for two days after the procedure.
– Apply only moisturizer for two days.
– The skin may get red, itchy and bumpy post procedure. This will settle automatically within 24 hours.
– Apply the prescribed ointment or cream for 2 days, as directed by the doctor.
– Wear loose clothing over the treatment area for 2 days so that there is no chafing of skin.
Before Laser Hair Removal Treatment:
– Ensure there is no injury or tenderness on the area to be treated.
– Ensure no waxing or plucking or threading has been done.
– Ensure no salon or spa procedures have been done on the area to be treated for about 72 hours.
