Erase marks, spots and blemishes

Laser Spot Reduction @ InUrSkn

What is
Laser Spot Reduction

Laser spot reduction is the process in which we use Nd Yag Lasers in a focused mode to treat distinct marks and spots on your skin. These lasers are suitable to treat a wide variety of spots and marks on your skin including but not limited to birthmarks, Age Spots, PIH marks etc. The wavelength of the ND Yag Laser is such that it is able to target and treat the excess melanin in these spots which leaving the surrounding area unharmed.

Who should choose
Laser Spot / Birthmark Reduction?

If you are concerned about skin pigmentation and darkening and have any of the below conditions, Laser Spot Reduction may be suitable for you.

If you are concerned about Dry, Dull Patchy Aged Skin on your face Laser Spot Reduction may be suitable for you.

Sometimes a serious flare up of acne can leave behind PIH (Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) which is basically an increase in melanin levels in the acne affected areas. This can be treated with an ND Yag Laser exposure as teh laser beam tends to target and destroy the melanin in the skin while leaving the rest of the skin cells unaffected.

Working Principle of
Laser Birthmark Reduction

Nd Yag lasers emit a 1064 nm wavelength light, targeting melanin in the skin, making them ideal for lightening birthmarks and spots. The laser’s energy breaks down melanin, leading to a gradual fading of the targeted areas without damaging surrounding skin.

InUrSkn uses two Nd Yag lasers: the picosecond and the Q-switched. The picosecond laser delivers energy in ultra-short bursts, offering precise melanin targeting with minimal skin damage. The Q-switched laser, while slower, effectively treats most skin marks and is widely used for its versatility.

Treatment involves multiple sessions, tailored to individual skin types and birthmark characteristics. Mild discomfort is common, but manageable. Post-treatment, patients should avoid sun exposure and follow specific care instructions. Consulting a dermatologist is essential for understanding the treatment’s benefits and risks.

Know More About
Laser Spot Reduction

The following steps are typically followed in a laser spot reduction:

– The skin is cleaned with a mild cleanser.

– Dr. Sejal identifies the exact intensity, spot size and frequency for the machine based on the exact marks and spots.

– If deemed suitable a numbing cream maybe applied to the area being treated.

– Dr. Sejal then proceeds to deliver high intensity laser shots to the marks and spots in question.

– If then needed, this may be followed by an overall toning of the face or area being treated with a much lower intensity of the laser.

– The skin is cleansed again.

– Lastly a moisturizer and sunscreen is applied.

Probably the best thing about this procedure is that there is virtually no down time. However similar to any skin procedure, it is advisable to take a few precautions like:

Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 days.

Wear a broad spectrum sunscreen.

Use a moisturiser.

Use a mild face wash.

Do not scrub or rub your skin.

Do not apply makeup for 24 hours.

Do not wax, thread or bleach for 7 to 10 days

Do not undergo any salon or spa procedure for upto 72 hours.

Results can be expected at limited levels from the first session onwards. The marks and spots being treated start becoming lighter in colour.

To see an absolutely visible result, Dr. Sejal recommends undergoing at least 4 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart along with a proper at home skin care routine.
