What are
Hair Rejuventaion & Growth Treatments?

The basic protocol followed at InUrSkn by Dr. Sejal Saheta for Hair Loss Treatment is as below:

1. The first step is to identify the exact cause and type of hair loss. Only on this basis can an accurate hair care routine be prescribed.

2. The first line of treatment from Dr. Sejal involves topical and oral medications for hair loss which boost the health and growth of hair. This is accompanied by recommendations on changes in lifestyle like destressing, sleep enhancement, exercise etc.

3. For moderate intensity cases Dr. Sejal recommends that the patient undergoes injectable or iontophoresis treatment with growth factor serums.

4. For localized hair loss, Dr. Sejal may recommend steroidal injection to boost hair growth.

5. For severe and extensive cases Dr. Sejal would recommend undergoing a FUE hair transplant.

Know More About
Hair Loss Treatments

If you suffer from any of the below conditions, Hair rejuvenation procedures may be for you.

1. Androgenetic Alopecia: This is commonly called male or female patterned balding. It is genetic in nature and generally brought on as a person ages.

2. Telogen Effluvium: This is when acute hair fall occurs suddenly. The reason for this can be largely varied, ranging from stress to crash diets to a lot more.

3. Alopecia Areata: A patient with this condition develops bald spots not only on the scalp, but also sometimes from the beard, etc. It is an autoimmune condition triggered by stress.

There is a 4th type of hair loss called scarring hair loss. This is an irreversible type of hair loss that can be caused because of burns or certain skin diseases and cannot be treated.

Hair Fall treatments work by stimulating the growth of new follicles and also by strengthening existing hair follicles. This is achieved by the following mechanisms:

1. The growth factors present in the topical, ionized or injected serums tend to extend the growth phase of the hair follicles, not allowing for the hair to go into its resting or falling phase.

2. These growth factors also help by increasing the blood flow in the target area by a process called neovascularization (formation of new blood vessels)

3. This results in increase in the diameter of the hair and also much denser hair growth as more hair come into the active or growth phase.

As against this hair transplants work by simply taking hair from a donor area on the scalp which are immune to hair fall (like from the back and sides of the head) and implanting the same into the target area. Since entire hair follicles are implanted, these hair grow naturally and remain intact for a long time.

The results of topical applications and injectable treatments are visible when a proper hair care protocol is being followed. Once such a protocol is stopped, the hair follicles return to their natural state and start going into their resting phase, as they would have without any intervention.

As against this the results of hair transplant are long lasting and depend on the natural cycle of the hair that has been transplanted. It goes without saying that even hair transplant can be aided by means of a proper hair care routine.

Meso Therapy for Hair Rejuvenation

Mesotherapy is the mechanism by which a serum consisting of growth factor proteins is delivered into the middle layers (mesoderm) of the scalp using either injections or ionization.

These growth factors help towards resolving issues like lower cellular metabolism or poor blood circulation and hence help with hair health and boost hair growth.

PRP for Hair Rejuvenation

The human body is blessed with an almost unbelievable innate ability to heal itself. It is exactly this ability that we exploit when we carry out hair rejuvenation with PRP. PRP treatment uses platelet-rich plasma, which is taken from your own blood in order to produce results. This PRP serum aids the growth of new hair and also makes the existing hair stronger, leading to an overall dense hair growth.

FUE Hair Transplant

FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction method of Hair Transplant. It is the most established and safest method of hair transplant with very little down time and excellent results.

In this method hair follicle units are extracted (each unit carrying 3 to 4 hair roots) under a local anesthesia from the donor area. And each unit is implanted individually to the recipient area. This ensures there is no cuts, scars, stitches and absolutely minimum pain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately, there are no superfoods that one can eat for immediate reduction in hair loss. The goal is to eat a healthy and balanced diet, which incorporate adequate amount of protein and vitamins that boost hair growth.

Yes, it can. Crash diets often cause hair loss. This can include reduced protein or vitamin intake. Restoring regular balanced diet along with topical and oral medications can help achieve normalcy.

Hair loss can be genetic or it can be caused by any temporary change in physiology. Sometimes, hair loss can also occur due to infections. The best person to gauge the cause of hair loss is a dermatologist.

Unhealthy lifestyle choices affect overall hair health and increase hair loss. These choices include smoking, alcohol, crash dieting, unhealthy dietary habits and stress.

Very rarely does it happen that hair loss is a sign of something serious. A good dermatologist will be able to determine the nature and extent of hair loss. At most, the doctor may prescribe an additional test or two.

Yes.There are conditions in which a person experiences either sudden hair loss in patches or sudden overall hair loss. However, most of these conditions are either reversible or at the very least controllable.Hence, it is important to see a dermatologist immediately.

This depends on the type of hair loss. Except for scarring hair loss most other types of hair loss are reversible to a certain degree if the treatment is started as soon as hair loss is diagnosed.

It is normal to lose 80 – 100 hair strands daily. Anything in excess of that can be caused by conditions varying from genetic disposition to a temporary development like weight loss or pregnancy, or a more serious disease. It is best not to panic and see a dermatologist when in doubt.

The answer depends on how dirty your hair gets because of factors like pollution, sweat, etc. Most people wash their hair about 2 to 3 times a week and use a mild shampoo for the same. It is also advisable to use a conditioner after a wash. If you find your hair getting too dry or rough after a wash, try switching to a milder shampoo.
