Stretch marks
Stretch marks are also known as striae.. These occur when there is rapid growth of body and skin is not able to cope with it, resulting in epidermal and dermal tearing. This gives rise to stretch marks.
They present as reddish long streaks commonly seen in areas which has more body fat like abdomen, thighs, arms, back, under arms, buttocks etc. Over a period of time stretch marks lose colour become whitish and atrophy.
