Scientific & Effective Treatments for

Healthy Beautiful Skin

What is
Skin Rejuvenation?

Our skin constantly keeps changing due to factors like ageing, sun exposure, dietary habits, stress, smoking, etc. Skin Rejuvenation is a broad term for a variety of non-invasive treatments, therapies and procedures that are performed by qualified dermatologists. During Skin Rejuvenation, the primary goal is to achieve healthier, younger-looking, glowing and even-toned skin.

The various areas of skin health that skin rejuvenation techniques focus on are:
Skin Texture & Elasticity Concerns
Skin Pigmentation & Darkening Concerns
Age Related Concerns

While some treatments are stand alone other treatments may require a combination of procedures for optimum results. Typically the results of skin rejuvenation techniques are additive in nature and patients are often advised a treatment plan spread over weeks or months to ensure effective treatment and optimum results.

Who should choose
Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

If you are concerned about the texture of your skin or its elasticity and have any of the below conditions, Medical Facials may be suitable for you.

If you are concerned about skin pigmentation and darkening and have any of the below conditions, Medical Facials may be suitable for you.

For issues related to pigmentation and darkening a facial which targets the melanin in the skin works best. Dr. Sejal recommends a de-tanning / anti-tan facial which is a combination of Pico Laser Skin Rejuvenation and Chemical Peel. For more targeted concerns like dark circles or darkened lips Dr. Sejal recommends a combination of procedures spread over multiple weeks to deliver the best result.

If you are concerned about signs of ageing showing on your face and have any of the below conditions, Medical Facials may be suitable for you.

For these kind of concerns there are two objectives to achieve. The first is to improve the cellular turnover of the skin and the second is to hydrate the skin. For the same Dr. Sejal recommends a choice between an exfoliating facial which is a combination of Microdermabrasion and Laser Skin Rejuvenation and a hydrating procedure like hydrafacial or ionization of Hyaluronic Acid Serum.

IF you suffer from any specific skin conditions like acne, chronic dry skin, acne scars etc. Skin Rejuvenation Treatment maybe for you.

A dermatologist will examine your skin in detail and identify a course of treatment which may include a combination of at home medications and topical applications along with in clinic procedures.

Know More About
Skin Rejuvenation

At InUrSKn we believe that taking care of you skin is more than just a single visit to a dermatologist. We recommend the below protocol for skin rejuvenation that truly shows:

The first step is always an in depth consultation with Dr. Sejal to help with the following:

a. Establish your proper medical history and skin type and its current condition.
b. Establish proper expectations in terms of what is desired and what can be achieved.
c. Create a proper at home skin care routine with the correct set of skin care products and protocol to be followed.
d. Chart out a treatment plan specific to your expectations

A proper treatment plan identifies exactly which skin rejuvenation procedure will work best for you and its sequence and frequency during your treatment.

As you progress through the treatment program, Dr. Sejal will keep a check on your progress and may tweak the program to achieve better results.

Like all new things, starting with Skin Rejuvenation Treatments can be quite daunting. There can be hundreds of questions on your mind ranging from is it for me, to will it be effective, will it have side effects? All of these questions are valid and one should not engage in any medical or skin care procedure before having these answered. We highly encourage you to come speak to Dr. Sejal who can help you navigate the complex world of skin care and help identify what truly can work for you and meet your expectations.

You can also educate yourself on the various type of skin rejuvenation procedures available through a trusted online resource like our website. Frequently Asked Questions

Yes and No. You should aim for a balanced diet that does not favour one food group over the other. No macro or micro nutrients should be avoided in your diet unless they are known to cause allergies to you.

I advise all my patients to start a simple at home skin care routine consisting of simple moisturizers and sunscreen as early as 18 years of age. And as they age further they should incorporate more targeted skin care products like antioxidants and antiageing products.

One should start with basic skin rejuvenation or skin care procedures like medical skin cleanup and skin polishing in their early 20s.

Skin Health much like overall health is affected by two major aspects namely, lifestyle choices and environmental exposure. Lifestyle choice include but are not limited to aspects like diet, hydration, exercise, stress reduction, avoiding smoking and alcohol consumption etc. Meanwhile environmental aspects to look out for are protection against pollution and against sun exposure. These are the best things to do to naturally help the health of your skin.

Skin is often one of the first organs in the body to show signs of underlying health issues. In a variety of conditions like PCOS for women, or in psoriasis, eczema and other chronic conditions skin often reflects the underlying systemic condition the earliest. Hence one should never ignore any symptoms like rashes or lesions on the skin and should immediately seek the help of a dermatologist.

Over the counter topical and oral products often cause more harm than good. Dr. Sejal highly discourages all her patients from consuming or using any OTC skin care products or supplements without first consulting a dermatologist.

Absolutely. With modern medicine there is a wide variety of skin care products (both topical and oral) and also a lot many skin rejuvenation procedures that can reverse the damage of environment, lifestyle choices and ageing on your skin. One must consult a dermatologist their exact concerns who can then advise the exact line of treatment to be followed.

What people often refer to as ‘glow’ is nothing but visibly healthy and blemish-free skin. When one undergoes skin rejuvenation procedures and simultaneously follows a prescribed skincare routine, they find that eventually, their skin clears up and becomes healthier, resulting in a sustained ‘glowing and beautiful complexion.

Skin rejuvenation procedures try improving the health of the skin including pigmentation, texture, hydration etc. While skin whitening treatments try to change the colour tone of your skin. Skin whitening is often achieved by using topical creams like bleaches and steroids. Both of these treatments can be very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Also use of any intravenous drips and injections for whitening your skin can have serious complications.

Over the counter creams and bleaches can lead to permanent and lasting skin damage and should be avoided at all costs. There are safe skin care products available which use safe ingredients like antioxidants and hydration ingredients which can be safely used. However it is best to consult your dermatologist before engaging in any skincare routine.

Lightening of skin can be achieved safely by use of certain topical applications which contain antioxidants and hydrating agents. Also skin rejuvenation procedures that help reduce marks, spots and patchiness by safely affecting the melanin also help. Having said this one should not pursue skin lightening or skin whitening as a goal but instead aim for healthy even toned skin that glows.

There are certain foods that contain antioxidants which help with maintaining your skin health. However these will have limited effect on the tone of your skin. Also topical applications that claim to be natural generally have a very small percentage of natural ingredients and actually work by use of pharmacological ingredients only. Hence it is best to speak to your dermatologist about the best way for lightening your skin tone.
